Effective Leadership Assessment

Uncover
Your Inner
Operating System

What is happening on the inside of your leadership – and how is it helping or quietly holding you back?

You’re already carrying big responsibility. You make decisions, manage teams, and deliver results. On the outside, you look like an effective leader.
This effective leadership assessment gives you a clear, honest picture of where you stand today across six core dimensions of effective leadership – your “inner operating system”.

Why take an
Effective Leadership Assessment?

Most leadership assessments measure style, personality, or 360° feedback from others.
Useful, but incomplete.
This assessment is different.
It focuses on the inner architecture that shapes every decision and interaction:
  • How you relate to your own thoughts and emotions.

  • How you handle pressure, complexity, and competing demands.

  • How people actually experience you in the room, especially when things get tough.

If you want more than another “type profile”, this effective leadership assessment gives you a deeper, more practical view of your leadership from the inside out.

Why Your Inner
Operating System Matters

Most leadership development focuses on behaviour: how to give feedback, manage performance, or communicate more clearly.
Useful, but incomplete.

If the person applying those techniques is running on an outdated inner operating system, you get:

  • Reactive decisions are made from fear or habit.
  • Avoidance of critical conversations.
  • Shallow “performing leadership” instead of embodied presence.
  • Rising success on the outside, increasing strain on the inside.

In effective leadership coaching, we work at the level underneath all that – your inner architecture. I call these foundations the Six Anchors of an Effective Leader.

They give you a common language for what is happening beneath the surface, and a clear roadmap for change.

What you’ll get

From Inner Noise to Inner Alignment.

My Approach

The six anchors
of effective leadership

The assessment is built around the Six Anchors of an Effective Leader – six dimensions that together form your inner operating system.

You don’t need to remember all the theory. What matters is how they show up in your daily leadership.

The Six Anchors of the Effective Leadership Assessment

This is your baseline: your ability to notice what is happening around you, but most importantly inside you right now – thoughts, emotions, impulses – without being hijacked by them.

It’s the difference between being angry and noticing that anger is present.

When this anchor is weak:

  • You react automatically in meetings and only see it afterwards.
  • Stressful emails or board questions knock you off centre for hours.
  • You repeat the same patterns, even when you “know better”.

When this anchor is strong:

  • You develop a steady inner floor – a place to stand, even when circumstances are volatile.
  • You catch triggers earlier and choose responses rather than default reactions.
  • You can work with your internal state as data, not destiny.

Many leaders confuse will with willpower – gritting teeth, pushing harder, overriding signals of fatigue. That might work in the short term, but it’s not sustainable.

Here, will means Conscious Will: your capacity for clear, aligned choice.

When this anchor is weak:

  • You say yes to too much and no to almost nothing.
  • Your calendar is full of obligations you didn’t really choose.
  • You drive yourself with pressure and self-criticism.

When this anchor is strong:

  • You can say a grounded “yes” and “no” from a centred place.
  • You steer your leadership like a wheel, rather than stomping on the accelerator and hoping the engine holds.
  • You experience more agency and less resentment.

Inside every leader is an inner team of subpersonalities: the Critic, the Driver, the Strategist, the Caretaker, the Rebel, and more.

When this team is fragmented:

  • One part of you pushes hard for bold moves.
  • Another part slams on the brakes in fear.
  • You feel torn, exhausted, and strangely stuck.

When this anchor is strong:

  • You learn to chair the meeting in your own head.
  • The Critic becomes a sharp risk assessor, not a saboteur.
  • The Driver contributes ambition without burning you out.
  • You make decisions that use the best of each voice.

Leadership does not happen in isolation; it happens in the relational field – the invisible atmosphere between you and others.

When this anchor is weak:

  • People walk on eggshells around you.
  • Bad news travels slowly or not at all.
  • Meetings feel tense, even when everyone is being “polite”.

When it is strong:

  • People experience you as grounded, present, and clear.
  • There is enough safety in the room for truth to be spoken.
  • Commitment sticks because people feel seen, not managed.

Your world is rarely a neat choice between right and wrong. It’s often a series of polarities:

  • Stability ⇄ change
  • Control ⇄ empowerment
  • Short-term delivery ⇄ long-term sustainability

When this anchor is weak:

  • You swing between extremes – clamp down, then loosen too far.
  • Decisions feel like constant trade-offs and regrets.
  • You get stuck in endless analysis or hasty reactions.

When it is strong:

  • You can hold opposing forces without splitting or freezing.
  • You find “both/and” paths that serve the system, not just one side.
  • You adjust like a skilled sailor working with the wind, not against it.

Finally, we look at fuel and direction.

Purpose is your connection to a deeper why. Actualisation is aligning your day-to-day leadership with that purpose.

When this anchor is weak:

  • You hit targets but feel oddly hollow.
  • Cynicism creeps in, even as your CV looks impressive.
  • You question how long you can keep going like this.

When it is strong:

  • Your work becomes an expression of character, not just a job.
  • Resilience becomes realistic because it is fuelled by meaning, not just obligation.
  • You choose routes, pace, and goals that you can actually sustain.

How the
effective leadership assessment
works

The process is simple:

01 - Request the assessment.
Click the button above, enter your details, and you’ll receive the Six-Dimension Effective Leadership Assessment by email as a PDF.

02 - Complete it in one sitting.
Set aside 10–15 minutes where you won’t be interrupted. Answer honestly as you are now, not as you think you should be.

03 - Review your profile.
Look at your scores across the six anchors. Review the interpretation summaries. Notice patterns: where are you strong, where are you stretched, and where are you close to the edge?

04 - Choose one focus area.
Use the reflection prompts to choose one or two dimensions that would make the biggest difference if they shifted.

What happens after you take the effective leadership assessment?

What you do with the results is up to you.

Some leaders:

- Keep the assessment as a private reflection tool and revisit it every few months.
- Share it with a trusted colleague, mentor, or coach.
- Use it to frame development goals with their organisation.

If you want a confidential space to unpack your results with someone who works in this territory every day, you can also talk to me.

Many leaders:
Book a complementary 30min debrief conversation where we:

- Look at your effective leadership assessment results together.
- Identify the dimension that is currently carrying the most strain.
- Explore what a realistic next step could look like – whether that’s self-directed work or effective leadership coaching.

There’s no obligation to continue. The aim is to give you a clearer, kinder view of where you are now and what might help you move from coping to more conscious, sustainable leadership.

How We Apply the Six Anchors in Coaching

In effective leadership coaching, we don’t leave the Six Anchors as theory. We bring them straight into your real-world context.

A typical engagement includes:

Step 1 – Six-Anchors Leader Assessment – as a starting point, you complete the assessment to map your current strengths and strain points across the six anchors.

Step 2 – Discovery Call (30 minutes) – to understand your current reality, review your assessment at a high level, and see if we’re a fit.

Step 3 – Deep-dive sessions (60–120 minutes) – focused on live issues: decisions, relationships, patterns that are active right now.

By dimension:

D1 - In coaching, we build this anchor through practical awareness practices, real-situation debriefs, and specific “pause and observe” drills woven into your daily leadership.

D2 - We work directly with how you decide: which commitments you honour, which you release, and how you align your will with what actually matters.

D3 - We map your inner team, get to know key parts, and integrate them so your inner board of directors finally pulls in the same direction.

D4 - You can’t see this field, but everyone feels it instantly. Effective leadership coaching helps you sense and shape this field consciously – your tone, posture, timing, and how you enter a room, whether physical or virtual.

D5 - We bring real tensions from your context into the room and practise this synthesis together until it becomes a natural way of leading.

D6 - If Conscious Will is the steering wheel, Purpose is your destination, and Actualisation is the honest fuel gauge. In coaching, we connect these three so you are not just driving faster – you’re travelling somewhere you actually want to go.

Step 4 – Integration work between sessions – small practices embedded into meetings, emails, and conversations you already have.

Step 5 – Periodic reviews – to track what is shifting in your inner world and your outer results.

You can work with me:

  • In person in Munich (for leaders in the region).
  • Virtually worldwide, for executives across time zones.

Whichever format you choose, the focus remains the same: building real, embodied capacity in these six areas so your leadership becomes more effective and more sustainable.

Start with one honest look

Leadership in complex systems asks a lot of you. It’s easy to keep going, deliver, and postpone any deeper review of what this is costing you internally.

This effective leadership assessment is a simple, structured way to pause and look under the surface – not to judge yourself, but to understand your inner operating system more clearly.

From there, you can decide what, if anything, you want to change.

You do not have to wait for a crisis to begin this work.
You can start while things are “fine”—and move towards a form of leadership that is far more aligned, sustainable, and genuinely yours, wherever in the world you happen to be.
